Baby Massage Brisbane, Springfield & Ipswich

Baby Massage by Design offers a unique, tailored service to help parents learn and understand the scientific reasons behind their instincts, giving you the confidence to respond appropriately and positively to your baby’s needs while improving their overall health, wellbeing and happiness.

We teach the hugely beneficial skill of infant massage; a skill which offers a host of benefits to mums, dads and babies alike.

Mums and dads will gain an enhanced understanding and awareness of their baby, improve their infant communication and parenting skills, and strengthen their mental health, self-esteem and stress management.

For babies, infant massage can enhance the development of their emotional, physical, social and cognitive skills; reduce anxiety, discomfort, crying, sleep problems and other common issues; and provide regular opportunities for bonding, attachment, self-regulation and pro-social skill development.

Our professional instructor Carol has been working with children and families for her entire working life, and she is fully trained and certified in baby massage instruction. She brings a personal touch to her lessons, offering individualised and responsive teaching that is specifically designed for you and your baby and targeted at your needs and concerns.

We are proud to provide this service to help families maximise the many health and relationship benefits of infant massage, putting you in the best possible position to take on both the opportunities and the challenges that a new baby brings to your life.

Private and Small Group Lessons

We offer both private and small group lessons to parents and infants up to 18 months old (however the younger your baby is, the better, as we can target common issues early such as crying, colic, sleeping and bonding).

We’re flexible with times and venues and can arrange lessons in your home or another venue of your choice during the day, evenings and on weekends.

During the lessons, you will learn the types, pressures and rhythms of massage strokes, and various positions for massage. You will gain expertise in performing long and short massage routines as well as specific routines for tummy troubles, relieving congestion and boosting immunity.

Lessons are tailored to your interests and your baby’s needs, and you will receive resources to support your massage practice such as guides, learning materials and our pure cold-pressed organic baby massage oil.

You will be taught ways to maximise the benefits of baby massages and how to alter the massage routines as your child grows, so you can be assured that you and your child can benefit from the massage experience for many years to come.

There is a reward program, and gift certificates for various amounts are available. You may also like to check out our current special offers.

You can be confident that your safety and security are valued through our privacy practices, health and safety regulations, insurance, Blue Card and all vaccinations. An ongoing professional development program means that you will be guided by the latest respected theories and research in relevant fields.

Finally, you may be pleased to know that a proportion of your fee contributes to a not-for-profit charity supporting child health or to a local training program for parents and at-risk babies, to help break the cycle of disadvantage and possible harm.

Backed by Scientific Research

The benefits of baby massage have been heavily researched and proven to have a positive impact from the earliest years. The first 12 months of a baby’s life are the most important in terms of forming bonds and relationships with their parents, and supporting the development of these relationships is one of the most effective ways to prevent, reduce and even reverse the long-term impact of stress and pressure.

Baby Massage by Design implements a range of scientifically-grounded methods to establish and support early parent-baby relationships, and our baby massage techniques promote the development of positive, early infant mental health.

Our instructor Carol is certified in baby massage by both Baby in Mind and the Infant Massage Information Service (IMIS). Both of these organisations promote continuing research and advancements in the field of infant mental health and development, and endorse evidence-backed training and programs.

Carol is also a member of the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health (AAIMHI), a national professional organisation which promotes awareness of the critical period of infancy and early childhood through courses, seminars, conferences and advocacy.
